Ahhh, Colombia. Musically, you have very, very little to offer the world. Basically, you’re major contributions in the past 10 years have been re-hashed reggaeton, Shakira and some country shit with lots of accordians and various-sized guitars.

Yet rock, disco, house and probably many other entire genres of music would never exist without your most important natural export. SO I guess that redeems you.

Most of this Colombia-(s)inspired mix was stitched together in the jungles of Colombia last month, where I was imprisoned by FARC left-wing guerillas as a P.O.W and resident DJ. The news of Michael Jackson’s death really shook them up, and they released me in a moment of reflection. R.I.P.M.J.

Time to jump in the Delorean for a minute. 2001 (and thereabouts) was pretty much the beginning of TommyK and I’s full blown embracement of this thing most people call dance music (Tom’d still probably call Kid Creme’s Shakedown edit his fave track of all time).
