LORDS OF THE SYNTH

I have such a love/hate relationship with Argentina. I love everything about it, except the cold weather and the fact they threw me in prison once. Oh, and I also hate their fanatical devotion to tech/prog/minimal house. So this “Buenos Aires-inspired” mix is actually inspired solely by the fast internet connection provided in Buenos Aires hotels. It has nothing to do with their 2002/03 music tastes. One day i hope to meet the right girl, court her like a gentleman, then ask her to marry me. I can only hope that when the special day finally comes, and all our friends and family are present - she steps out of the limousine looking *stunning*. I know it’s bad luck to see the bride in her wedding dress before the big day, but i reckon it would’ve been worth putting the kybosh on this number before taking on all the bad luck from seeing her out of her dress during the ceremony. Rio de Janeiro is a marvellous city. Beautiful tanned people. Magnificent scenery. Drinking beers on the beach is practically mandated by local bylaw. A big bag of South America’s most famous export* will set you back a princely AUD$19. Or so I’m told.

But the internet is slow and expensive. Not good for downloading MP3s in the fashion I’ve become accustomed. It took my contact in the Bolivian paramilitaries about 4 months to get the bootleg CDs to me I ordered, meaning this mix comes to you after lengthy delay. I’m sure you’ll understand.

Just as Mythbusters proved you can polish a turd - we here at SynthLords.com feel we can improve on our own levels of perfection - i.e. try and get back to uploading mixes with the regularity we used to… hard work with half of the team blatantly slacking in Brazil and the other (myself) in hospital. Enough excuses though - back to work. Hope you guys keep diggin’ them as much as we enjoy makin’ them - and remember - there’s no such thing as a perfect pizza, only a step in the right direction (towards an instant heart attack).

What a delightful week. After taking a seemingly forgettable bump to the elbow at indoor soccer last Wednesday, i’ve since seen the belated 36hr appearance of the swelling you see above, been hospitalised for 6 days with an IV antibiotic drip, and generally enjoyed almost a week of lying in a bed watching horrible daytime TV while listening to old people groan and regurgitate. So after being jammed full of drugs for a week i feel you should cop a mix jammed full of Designer Drugs for an hour. The real shame was missing their gig at Candy’s last week due to the whole swellbow incident. Oh well - Le Castle Vania tonite. Bone voyage b*tches..
